The line is said by a gravel-voiced Jackie Earle Haley towards the end of the full trailer for the remake of A Night Mare On Elm Street. I've been waiting So long for this! For this is the line we've heard through seven Nightmare movies. Director Samuel Bayer has a tough job making sure not to disappoint a long line of Freddy fans. The trailer has a bleak tone that revisits some key moments from Wes Craven's original as well as very unsettling new material. The basic story remains the same - a group of teens in the fictional town of Springwood, led by Nancy Thompson (Rooney Mara) are stalked in their dreams by a scarred, clawed demon named Freddy Krueger. One new twist to the story is that after seventy hours of sleep victims won't know whether dreaming or awake. This isn't new territory for Platiunum Dunes, the company behind the remake of this as well as other horror classics Friday The 13th, The Amityville Horror and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
