Mobile Update

Mobile Update:

This year's Pwn2Own contest is less than a month away. For those of you new to the mobile security world, Pwn2Own is an annual contest at the CanSecWest security conference where hackers attempt to crack desktop and mobile browsers. This year's event is March 24th and it will be held in Vancouver.

Last year nobody cracked any mobile OS, which is awesome if your concerned about your mobile security. This year 15 grand is up for grabs if you have the skills to uncover a security hole on a Blackberry Bold 9700, iPhone 2GS or an undetermined SYmbian S60 device.

60 percent of the 100 grand total cash prizes are allotted to mobile phones, each target being 15 grand a piece. Successful execution must result in code execution with little to no user interaction. So in english they are looking for holes that mobile spyware and direct attacks could use to their advantage.
