I am boycotting professional sports, and you might want to think about it too.

Watching sports is not bad for you entirely, everyone needs a time waster or something to be a part of. Casually watching sports is a great hobby, you can spend time with friends chat about games, teams, players etc. The problem lies in the hardcore sports fans, these fans buy merchandise, go to games, follow teams stats like a religion, you know the type, they rarely talk about anything but sports, are baffled at the fact that you don't know who Sidney Crosby is or the fact that you don't need to watch the latest greatest sports event.
These hardcore fans become so enthralled with sports they can't even see what's going on around them. I'd like to make something very clear, in no way shape or form do I think playing sports is bad, perhaps playing sports instead of watching them would be a better hobby, less time would be spent on the couch wishing you were Sidney Crosby or LeBron James

Then we have the "Hey I play sports all the time" people, and they often religiously follow these sports on television and via statistics on the internet and newspaper, well, for you I do understand it is your hobby and your passion so you want to find every bit of information you can, that is completely normal, as a musician would explore every opportunity to learn more about music a historian would take every opportunity to learn more history as to an athlete their sport. To you the true athlete I simply ask you take the time to read more than the sports section.

Now all you athletes, please don't kick my ass alright?
