Marijuana, the world's most popular drug is now growing in popularity among the 50+ age group as the massive generation of baby boomers who came of age in the 60's and 70's grow older the number of people over age 50 reporting marijuana use is on a steady rise, from 2002-2008 the numbers have tripled.
Amit Katz owner of the Lifestyle Nutrition Centers in Palm Desert La Quinta and author of "Front Line of Nutrition" said "Before it was such a taboo, maybe now we're demystifying the drug and that's a good thing. Maybe they're finally piping up: I like weed. I've liked it since I smoked i for the first time in 1972." So maybe it's not so much a ride in smokers but possibly people are more comfortable to admit they smoke.
