27 Feb 2010 - Internationally known Turkish pop star Tarkan was taken into custody Thursday. Tarkan was detained along with several others who are "important figures from the art and magazine world," in a narcotics raid.
An unspecified amount of cannabis was reportedly found in the singer’s Istanbul home, according to private news channel CNNTürk. Tapped telephone conversations allegedly revealed Tarkan was buying drugs; his name was reportedly spoken openly in conversations, without the use of any code names.
